Assouline Celebrates Ramadan 2026 With A Hand-painted Library Collection

Bringing art, heritage, and craftsmanship together in a limited-edition series for the holy month

In celebration of Ramadan 2026, Assouline unveils a refined and limited-edition Library Collection that merges collectible design, cultural storytelling, and everyday functionality. Hand-painted by renowned illustrator George Greaves, the collection transforms elegant library objects into works of art inspired by the spirit of the holy month and the visual language of the Middle East.

Greaves, known for illustrating Assouline’s iconic titles Saudi Dates: A Portrait of the Sacred Fruit, Saudi Coffee: The Culture of Hospitality, and Mystic Mist: The Rituals of HuqqA, brings his signature graphic and colorful style to this exclusive series.

Part of Assouline’s growing Library Collection, this Ramadan Edition introduces a curated selection of functional objects — from bookends and bookstands to a backgammon set and heritage frame — each crafted with exceptional attention to detail.

Primarily hand-painted in shades of blue, desert sand, and Assouline Red, the pieces feature symbolic motifs such as palm trees, crescent moons, and stars. These elements reference renewal, light, and life, while honoring regional heritage and the spiritual essence of Ramadan.

“I always enjoy the opportunity to bring my artwork into everyday contexts where people can interact with it, especially on objects as beautiful as these,” says George Greaves. “I have tried to capture the spirit of the Middle East during Ramadan through symbols and vibrant colours, and I hope they bring both beauty and meaning to those who experience them.”

Limited to just 60 individually numbered pieces, the collection reflects Assouline’s ongoing commitment to supporting artists beyond the printed page — offering new ways to experience craftsmanship through collectible design.

The Ramadan Edition will be available at Maison Assouline Riyadh and at select Assouline retailers across the region.
