Cairo Design Week 2025: The Region’s Big Creative Block Party Starts Today

Cairo Design Week is back from 20–29 November 2025, and it’s going bigger than ever. Since launching in 2022, CDW has turned the city into a magnet for creativity—connecting designers, brands, and institutions and cementing Cairo’s rise alongside Milan, London, and Dubai.

This year expands across three design districts, uniting world-class talent, pioneering brands, and bold ideas in a citywide showcase:

  • Heliopolis (Nov 21–29): heritage villas and sunlit courtyards open up again, mixing old-world charm with fresh creative installs. It’s the birthplace of Cairo Design Week (2022), so the vibe is very “roots meet now.” A cornerstone stop—slow walks, big details.
  • Zamalek (Nov 22–29): leafy streets, galleries, and gardens host talks and pop-ups with that island energy. Last year it was just a pocket—this year it’s a full district. Expect chill strolls, smart conversations, and art that feels close.
  • Downtown (Nov 23–29): Belle Époque facades and a buzzy urban backdrop set the stage for past-meets-present design. Second year running here, cementing it as a cultural anchor. Across all three, you can chart your own trail—wander, stumble, discover—proof that design lives in the city and belongs to everyone.

For ten days, Cairo becomes an open-air design playground: large-scale installations, immersive exhibitions, pop-up pavilions, interactive trails, live activations—the works. Expect talks, workshops, and cultural programs that honor Egypt’s design heritage while pushing future-forward innovation. And it’s not just for insiders: CDW 2025 is open to everyone—professionals, enthusiasts, and the simply curious.

“Cairo Design Week has grown into more than just a platform – it’s a movement that brings together people, ideas, and cultures,” said Hisham Mahdy, Founder of Cairo Design Week.

The week wraps with the 7th Cairo Design Awards, celebrating the year’s most groundbreaking work from Egypt and beyond.

New this year: the CDW Universities Initiative, giving emerging creatives real-world exposure, industry recognition, and access to an international network.

“For 2025, our vision is to build on last year’s incredible momentum and create a world-class space where Egyptian talent stands shoulder to shoulder with global innovators. At the same time, we want design to feel open, accessible, and inspiring for everyone.” – Hisham Mahdy, Founder of Cairo Design Week.
