Reflecting the artistry of Peru’s Andean mountains and traditional costumes.

COYA, the renowned Latin American luxury brand, announced its latest collaboration with Ecuadorian designer Gabriella Moya. Moya, celebrated for her dedication to preserving the rich heritage of indigenous crafts, has been entrusted with redesigning COYA’s hostess uniforms emphasizing Peruvian artistry and sustainability.

Hailing from Ecuador’s Andean mountains, Moya’s extensive background as a documentarian, artist, and fashion designer has taken her across South America, exploring its indigenous cultures. Her collaboration with COYA draws upon these roots, infusing the elegance and power of Incan queens into her designs. This partnership underscores COYA’s commitment to highlighting Peru’s rich cuisine, arts, and culture through ancient Incan techniques.

COYA’s journey began in Peru, driven by a mission to discover the finest authentic and contemporary culinary experiences. Known for its bespoke decor, vibrant Peruvian cuisine, and spectacular themed parties, COYA offers a dynamic dining experience that begins the moment guests walk through the door. This immersive voyage to Latin America celebrates gastronomy, enhanced by the brand’s iconic décor, beverages, music, and hospitable staff.

Moya’s creations are inspired by the grandeur of the Inca, the flora and fauna of the Andean mountains, and the vibrant Peruvian culture. Utilizing traditional fabrics and century-old embroidery techniques, each piece is handcrafted by Peruvian artisans, ensuring the preservation of traditional craft. The designs feature sustainable materials such as B Corp-certified Pima cotton and ethical embroidery threads. Key elements include the lliclla (a half cape) and the chumpi (a symbolic woven belt), complemented by handmade jewellery inspired by Incan royals.

“Collaborating with COYA was an incredible experience, allowing me to create attire that embodies the Andean mountains’ beauty and Incan royalty’s power.”
