٤. Roger Fakhr Makes a Triumphant COLORS Debut With “Fine Anyway”

Colors – Roger Fakhr

Lebanese folk cult-figure Roger Fakhr steps into long-overdue spotlight with a beautifully stripped-back COLORS performance of “Fine Anyway”. Once a nearly lost gem of Beirut’s ’70s folk scene — recorded as the civil war began and shared only on a handful of homemade cassettes — the song resurfaces with disarming warmth, carried by Fakhr’s gentle guitar and unmistakable calm. Influenced by Dylan and James Taylor yet rooted in Beirut’s fragile artistic heartbeat, Fakhr brings decades of quiet resilience, displacement and artistry into a single intimate session. A must-see moment marking the global return of a voice that history almost misplaced.

Courtesy of Studio Proba

Studio Proba debuts Echoes of the Infinite on the Giza Plateau — three monumental stone sculptures installed among the ancient pyramids as part of the fifth edition of Forever Is Now, on view until 6 December 2025. Carved from marble, onyx, travertine and quartzite, the pieces rise as abstract portals and sculptural echoes of the Eye of Horus, shaped through flowing curves and concave surfaces that interact with light, sand and horizon. Studio Proba describes the process as one of “listening to the stone,” allowing the natural veins and colours — millions of years in the making — to guide each form. A striking dialogue between contemporary design and the eternal landscape of Giza.

Manar Abu Dhabi returns from November 15, 2025 to January 4, 2026, transforming the capital into a radiant open-air museum under the theme “The Light Compass.” This year’s edition expands across islands, oases and waterfronts, presenting more than 20 newly commissioned works that blend land, light and sensory immersion. At the center of the program, DRIFT introduces three major creations: Whispers, a shimmering field of 500 illuminated tips moved by the wind; Unfold, an AI-driven floral sculpture shaped in real time by visitors’ heartbeats; and Wind of Change, an epic aerial ballet of 2,000 drones tracing winds, dunes and the falcon emblem across the night sky. Stretching from Abu Dhabi’s coastlines to the palm-lined oases of Al Ain, the initiative pushes public art beyond the static and into the experiential — a luminous invitation to explore how technology, nature and imagination can reshape place.

٨. Moroccan Photographer Hicham Benohoud Wins Prestigious Paris Photo Award

Hicham Benohoud – The Classroom

Moroccan-born, Marrakech-based photographer Hicham Benohoud has been awarded the Paris Photo–Aperture Photobook Prize 2025 in the “Photobook of the Year” category for his book The Classroom. The volume gathers his signature series shot between 1994 and 2002, during which time he used his own classroom as a staged studio and archive. The award — presented during the 28th edition of Paris Photo (13-16 Nov 2025) at the Grand Palais — marks a major recognition of his persistent and original practice.

Benohoud, who initially taught visual arts before dedicating himself fully to photography, said this accolade is “the equivalent of an Oscar for cinema,” underscoring the importance of the photobook format in contemporary visual culture.
This moment not only honours his imagery — which blends performance, identity, architecture and pedagogy — but also signals the rising visibility of Moroccan and North African photographic voices on the global stage.

Courtesy of Breitling

Dubai becomes the stage where time redraws its own map. Breitling’s CEO Georges Kern lifts the veil on a new constellation: the House of Brands, uniting Breitling, Universal Genève, and Gallet under one visionary pulse. Two sleeping legends—UG and Gallet—stir back to life ahead of their 2026 rebirth, carrying century-old stories of pilots, pioneers, and watchmaking artistry. From ultra-luxury to adventure-ready entry pieces, this new triad reframes the future of contemporary horology: diverse, curated, and unapologetically ambitious. A 400 m² pavilion at Dubai Watch Week becomes the portal where collectors glimpse tomorrow’s timekeepers—bold, revived, and ready to reshape the codes.
