Ras Al Khaimah Art 2024 Festival

February will see the festival thrill art enthusiasts.

Ras Al Khaimah Art, the year-long cultural initiative, is set to captivate audiences with its theme ‘In Motion’ with the Ras Al Khaimah Art 2024 Festival. Curated by Alfio Tommasini and presented by Aldar, the festival opens at the Al Jazeera Al Hamra Heritage Village.

The Ras Al Khaimah Art 2024 Festival is set to feature an immersive line-up of over 100 diverse artists, including the addition of The Souq — a contemporary art exhibition and market. The festival also brings Ephemeral Whispers, a dynamic kinetic art installation situated on the Fort tower, representing unity and human interactions that perfectly complement the ‘In Motion’ theme. The installation combines materials from different cultures, hanging like tapestries, telling stories of heritage.

Set to be an immersive and sensory cultural experience for visitors, the Ras Al Khaimah Art 2024 Festival will bridge heritage and modernity with a curated display of over 100 different artists, along with inspiring masterclasses, public talks, and live performances.

“The theme ‘In Motion’ challenges the idea of a new ‘normal’ and encourages everyone to embrace the ongoing changes in our diverse world. The Festival celebrates and questions the influence of motion and change, uniting various art forms and sparking conversations among artists, authors, creatives, and the community.”

– Alfio Tommasini, curator at Ras Al Khaimah Art 2024 Festival

Furthermore, the 12th of the festival includes interactive experiences and live performances. Visitors have the opportunity to unleash their creativity in workshops focused on wire knitting, resin ocean art, photography, and ceramics. Attendees can enjoy Live Performance Saturdays featuring dynamic music, stand-up comedy, and various artistic acts, while Fright Film Nights will feature compelling documentaries and captivating stories from renowned directors.

The festival will also reintroduce the highly acclaimed cultural heritage dining adventure, Antica Australis. This unique experience will present specially crafted four-course menus featuring local organic produce from Ras Al Khaimah, combined with Australian native ingredients and Emirati flavours. In addition, visitors can participate in discussions on culture, innovation, and sustainability through a six-part speaker series.

For pet lovers, the festival invites them to join the Pet-Friendly Weekend taking place from February 9 to 11. Bring your pets for a delightful exploration, and participate in fun activities and workshops. Activities include creating pet collar/harness art, paint pottery name tags, capture precious pet moments in photos, and a chance to enjoy entertaining pet fashion shows throughout the weekend.

The Ras Al Khaimah Art 2024 Festival will have its public opening on February 2 at 9:00 am. For more information, visit here.
