Fashion and film have long been intertwined, and now Saint Laurent is taking the relationship to the next level with the launch of its film production banner, Saint Laurent Productions. With its first production, Pedro Almodóvar’s “Strange Way of Life,” set to premiere at Cannes, Saint Laurent is signalling its intention to impact the film world significantly.

And if that wasn’t enough to turn heads, Saint Laurent Productions has two more exciting projects in the works, helmed by visionary directors David Cronenberg and Paolo Sorrentino. For creative director Anthony Vaccarello, the opportunity to work with such groundbreaking talents is a dream come true.

“These directors never fail to open my mind,” Vaccarello said in a statement. “In a way, the singular, radical vision they bring to cinema has made me the person I am today.”

Vaccarello will design the costumes for Saint Laurent Productions’ three films, but no branding will be seen. He said the latest project continues Saint Laurent’s legacy, which was “always linked to cinema.”
