Kangaroo’s ‘Circus’ Is a Wild Ride of Colour, Craft, and Cairo Cool.

Kitsch is the new chic, and Kangaroo is taking us straight to the main tent. The Egyptian design studio, known for turning the mundane into the magical, just dropped its Summer 2025 collection Circus, and it’s a riot in the best way possible.

Founded by artist and interior designer Naila Marei, Kangaroo is where fine arts collide with street life, all filtered through a Cairo-born lens. The brand is famous for reimagining overlooked materials; repurposing, restyling, and reloving them into collectible, functional works of art. Whether it’s for your home or your body, every piece is made to be lived in, lounged on, or laughed in.

With Circus, Kangaroo isn’t just presenting a collection, it’s putting on a show. The editorial bursts with colour, pattern, and pure chaos (the joyful kind!). There are shaggy bucket hats topped with beaded elephants, striped pants with “awkward” pockets, and towels that double as bags. Nothing is too serious, and everything has a wink. Even accessories play their part: bandanas born from repurposed cover-ups, pouch bags stitched for secrets, and beaded totes ready for beachside mischief.

What ties it all together? That unmistakable Kangaroo spirit. Multi-functional, tactile, and made to spark joy.

Behind it all is Naila’s eye for turning Cairo’s street culture into a design language of its own. She scavenges local markets, embraces imperfection, and finds beauty in the discarded. In her world, a scrap of fabric becomes a story, a zigzag stitch becomes a signature, and self-expression is the only rule that matters.

Circus isn’t about perfect fits or curated minimalism, it’s about clashing boldly, twirling wildly, and remembering how to play. It’s for the child in you that still believes in colour for colour’s sake and function that doesn’t kill the fun.

In a world that keeps asking for polish and precision, Kangaroo dares to be loud, layered, and a little absurd. And honestly? The inner child in us is thriving!

So come join the circus! No ticket required, just imagination and a flair for the fabulous.
