The intimacy of leather, the elegance of Dior

On January 14, Christian Dior Parfums unveiled Cuir Saddle, the newest addition to La Collection Privée, with an intimate evening in Dubai that mirrored the fragrance’s quiet confidence and contemporary sensuality. Hosted at the Leila Heller Gallery in Alserkal Avenue, the seated dinner brought together art, haute perfumery and craftsmanship—three pillars long central to the Dior universe.

At the heart of the evening was Francis Kurkdjian, Dior’s Perfume Creation Director, whose approach to fragrance consistently challenges inherited codes. With Cuir Saddle, Kurkdjian revisits the leather family—one of perfumery’s most historically loaded genres—and gently dismantles its clichés. Gone are the heavy smoke, animalic excess and overt virility traditionally associated with leather scents. In their place: light, texture and intimacy.

The fragrance takes its name and spirit from the iconic Dior Saddle bag, a fashion object that has transcended trend cycles to become a symbol of bold femininity and modern elegance. Like the bag itself, Cuir Saddle balances structure and softness. Velvety suede notes unfold with floral luminosity, creating a leather-floral composition that feels cool, supple and quietly enveloping—designed not to dominate a room, but to cling to the skin.

This notion of perfume as an extension of the body has long defined La Collection Privée.

Dior’s haute parfumerie line, conceived as a space for creative freedom and nuanced expression. Cuir Saddle fits seamlessly into this philosophy: a fragrance that does not perform leather, but reinterprets it—refined, contemporary, and deeply wearable.

The evening, attended by Dior ambassadors Razane Jammal and Ahmed Malek alongside Valerie Abou Chacra, Myriem Boukadida and Saffron Vadher, unfolded around a dinner curated by Michelin-starred chef Brando Moros. Artworks, table settings and conversations echoed the fragrance’s duality: strength softened by light, heritage reshaped through modern sensibility.

With Cuir Saddle, Dior offers a new reading of leather—less armor, more intimacy. A scent that, much like its inspiration, becomes unforgettable not through excess, but through presence.
