Hot pink on the runway!
On the first day of Paris Fashion Week, Peter Philips, Dior Make Up’s Creative and Image Director, welcomed us backstage in the Tuileries Garden. This season, Peter Philips introduced an innovative makeup look on the runway. When asked to describe the Dior beauty style we were about to discover, he chose the words “Glowing, Poetic, and Unexpected,” which couldn’t have gotten us more excited!
For this Dior show, Maria Grazia Chiuri drew inspiration from the late 1960s when Marc Bohan introduced Miss Dior to the world — think femininity, freedom, fluid silhouettes, pants, coats, jackets, and skirts cut above the knee — or in other words, a collection that celebrates the creative freedom of which Miss Dior is the emblem.
Celebrating creative freedom as well, in a cheerful mood with a swatch of pink pigment on his hands, Peter Philips explained that while discussing the makeup direction with Maria Grazia Chiuri, he suggested, “Let’s maybe add a twist somewhere,” given that the collection was very beige, gold, and sparkly. “We decided to try out the pink to bring an interesting and unexpected look, and voilà!”

Peter Philips describes “A surprising eye look, created for the show, where a pure and rich pigment, in a vivid raspberry colour, was applied intuitively to the inner corner of the eye. Eyebrows were tidied and structured with Diorshow Brow Styler and Diorshow On Set Brow.”
