Taller Marmo pulls off island aesthetics with aplomb
Taller Marmo took inspiration from the Mediterranean islands for their Spring 2024 collection. Milan-based designers Yago Goicoechea and Riccardo Audisio focused on the innate need for practicality and playful desire for decadence, mirroring the grace of island life.
The collection is an ode to the natural lifestyle that follows, showcasing a paradoxical variety of materials, colours, and silhouettes. For instance, the classical eveningwear silhouettes come with a daytime palette of earthy terracotta, moss green, cornflower blue, volcanic black silk, and Grecian-stone white crêpe. Matte fabrics are complimented by Gossamer textures and glimmering sequins, while ostrich plumes link up with silk fringing.

Goicoechea and Audisio consider the ’60s and ’70s to be the Golden Age of glamour, during which island life became a symbol of bohemianism, hedonism, and freedom. As such, Taller Marmo’s Spring 2024 collection pays homage to history’s legendary divas, along with Pierre Cardin’s graphic lines. The latter is tipped with asymmetric egg-shaped kaftans in silk satin, sculptural cutouts and bold silhouettes designed to cut through the crowd.
The nostalgic Jet Set days are infused with a dose of modernity: a geometric fastening here, a perpendicular metal buckle there, and razor-sharp hems slicing through the fluidity of draped silk. Every piece in the collection is entirely crafted in Italy by a unique community of craftswomen and family-run suppliers who prioritize local production and materials. In keeping with Taller Marmo principles, the devotion to quality of life can be felt in the aesthetics and in the craftsmanship.
