In 2023, CHANEL unveiled the J12 CALIBER 12.1 watch, which dazzled with its 18K yellow gold and choice of two colours. This year, at Watches and Wonders, the CHANEL Watchmaking Creation Studio blends the yellow gold with diamonds and presents an updated take on the exquisite timepiece.

The new J12 CALIBER 12.1 watch has a bezel set with 50 brilliant-cut diamonds, while the dial comes with 12 of them. It is decorated with an oscillating weight that symbolizes the pinnacle of CHANEL Watchmaking.

Hermès opted to go down the simplicity route at Watches and Wonders this season, coming up with the remarkable Hermès Cut Collection. All-new and unisex, the new introduction has a ‘sport elegance’ edge, with soft lines and a free-spirited round form that harnesses the perfect geometry of the circular shape. This smooth and creative approach results in a pure, simple, and no-frills design that is as timeless as it is captivating.

٣. Cartier Santos-Dumont Rewind

The Cartier animal jewellery watches are rightfully in the spotlight, but an underrated gem at Watches and Wonders was the Cartier Santos-Dumont Rewind. This super-exclusive watch, limited to just 200 copies, is both conventional and unique in its approach.

The defining trait of the Cartier Santos-Dumont Rewind is its inverted mechanism that sees its hands and the Roman numerals move backwards. This is a sensational touch that adds much flavour to the timepiece. With a platinum case and a red carnelian dial, it is built to stand out anywhere.

Piaget paid tribute to 150 years of watchmaking genius at Watches and Wonders this season with the Piaget Altiplano Ultimate Concept Tourbillon. This ultra-thin watch is a lesson in horological ingenuity, boasting the same 2 mm thickness as its acclaimed predecessor. Housing a flying Tourbillon, it is capable of sustaining the 25% extra power demand that comes with it.

The commitment to the watch’s slim structure is commendable, as is the technical upgrade and spades of self-expression. The combination of blue and gold is an exciting colour pair that draws attention and never wavers from being elegant.

This Alpine Eagle from Chopard at Watches and Wonders is a masterclass in how to blend the traits of sporty and chic into one phenomenal watch. The 41 XP Frozen Summit is the Maison using its years of watchmaking and jewellery expertise to evoke the spirit of the stars in the sky reflected on the icy glaciers.

The 41 mm-diameter case, as well as the entire dial, bezel, crown and integrated bracelet in ethical 18-carat white gold, are set with meticulously cut diamonds. This is thus a jewellery marvel that is also technically superior to everything else. Chopard’s use of the ultra-thin L.U.C 96.41-L movement, with automatic winding via a micro-rotor, ensures a 65-hour power reserve.

٦. Rolex Deepsea

Rolex’s Deepsea is the stuff of legend, with the watch having a special reputation of being a world-famous sea diver. For this year’s Watches and Wonders, the company opted to go for the same approach, but dripped in gold. The 18-karat, solid-gold Deepsea can resist water up to 3,900 meters, which is simply staggering no matter how you look at it.

Rolex claims this is the heaviest watch they have ever crafted, thanks to the RLX Titanium caseback. This timepiece of superlatives can pull you to any ocean floor with ease, but will do a great job of telling the time while at it.
