The famous Comic Con will return to Abu Dhabi in February 2024

Middle East Film and Comic Con (MEFCC), the region’s largest pop culture festival, is set to return for its 12th edition. Organized by Informa Connect in partnership with Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT), it will touch down in Abu Dhabi on February 9, 2024.

MEFCC will happen from February 9-11 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), UAE. The highly anticipated Comic Con event has opened up early bird tickets, with a chance for fans to save up to 40% off door prices. Hosting over 35,000 fans, the event offers a mix of international and regional entertainment and brands from Film, TV, Sci-Fi, Anime, Manga, Gaming, Comics and Collectibles.

Collaborating with key organizations shaping the Emirate’s status as a top international destination, it aims to unite stakeholders around a common vision, coordinate efforts, provide innovative solutions, and employ optimal tools, policies, and systems to bolster the culture and tourism sectors.

Fans in attendance at the Comic Con can meet celebrities, shop exclusive merchandise, watch film previews and screenings, take part in creative workshops, compete in gaming tournaments and cosplay competitions. Indeed, the MEFCC is the ultimate destination for entertainment enthusiasts and visitors to enjoy an action-packed weekend, or for those whose lifelong dream has been attending a Comic Con.

Among the celebrity line up at the festival, fans can meet Troy Baker, the American Voice actor and musician best known for his role in gaming titles such as Joel (The Last of Us), Snow Viliers (Final Fantasy XIII), Jonesy (Fortnite), Joker, and Batman. Troy’s status as a legendary voice actor showcases diversity with not just gaming titles, but with a number of anime characters, including Baki Hanma from Baki and Yamato, along with other anime titles such as Fullmetal Alchemist, One Piece, and Bleach.

The ticket pre-bookings also include open registrations for the Cosplay Competition. Fans can plan ahead and register to participate in one of the four categories present. Cosplayers in the UAE entering the ‘World Cosplay Summit Preliminaries’ can win a chance to travel to Japan to represent the UAE at the World Cosplay Summit finals in Nagoya. MEFCC will additionally host three cosplay categories – Best Craftsmanship, Best Performance on Stage, and Best Kids Cosplay, with a prize pool of AED 35,000 up for grabs.
