The brand took over King Louis XIV’s Palace of Versailles gardens for its Fall 2023 “LE CHOUCHOU” collection.

For “Le Chouchou,” Simon Porte Jacquemus opted for sheer fabrics such as lace, tulle, and organza in contrast to his usual minimalist aesthetic. Experimenting with proportions, he incorporated hip pads for a ballgown effect and introduced puff-sleeved mini dresses as a humorous take on these elegant elements. The collection also has an interesting take on the undergarment wear of the royalty era, infusing the pieces with that modern sheer look and classic silhouettes. The collection isn’t as regal as expected, but it does play with its references in a playful, even slightly campy way, just like Jacquemus always does.
