As the sun dipped below the Tyrrhenian Sea, the cliff-perched Casa Malaparte in Capri set the stage for an unforgettable celebration of Jacquemus‘ 15th anniversary. Always known for selecting breathtaking venues that complement his fashion narratives, Simon Porte Jacquemus chose this iconic location to unveil his Autumn/Winter 2024 collection.

This venue was chosen to mirror his design ethos, blending the raw beauty of nature with cutting-edge style. More than just an aesthetic choice, it symbolized a milestone: 15 years of the brand’s influential presence in the fashion world, marking a poignant return to the roots of artistic inspiration.

With Capri’s rich artistic legacy and stunning scenery, the location perfectly captured the essence of the Jacquemus brand: adventurous, bold, and timelessly stylish. As the fashion elite convened in this historic setting, it set the stage for a showcase of the latest designs, celebrating a journey of exceptional creativity and distinct vision in the world of fashion.

Themes & Motifs of the Jacquemus Autumn/Winter 2024

Under the haunting melody of Dalida’s “Histoire d’un amour,” Jacquemus presented “La Casa,” a collection that celebrated the architectural grandeur and serene landscapes of Capri. Drawing inspiration from “Les Sculptures” and earlier works, the collection explored minimalist geometries and classical Greek draping, radically transcribed to embody the purest forms of beauty and sensuality. The collection introduced fresh silhouettes that paired architectural shapes with a sense of weightless elegance, enhanced by details like cascading jersey and sheer mousseline, resembled a layer of water..

The colour palette of vivid reds, yellows, cool blues, stark whites, and navy reflected the natural beauty surrounding the venue, while the motifs of zebra stripes and Dolce Vita-inspired scarves added a narrative of refined, adventurous luxury. References to Curzio Malaparte’s home and Godard’s “Le Mépris” subtly connected the collection to its setting, with floor tiles and the intense Capri blue serving as artistic motifs throughout.

The collection also debuted “La Spiaggia,” a hand-crafted bag with a unique rond-carré design, and “Le Bombola,” a bucket bag whose angular shape resembles the architecture of Casa Malaparte. These pieces, whether in leopard jacquard or smooth, sand-toned leather, featured sculpted magnetic rings and extended the silhouettes with revisited bourgeois archetypes like square-toed espadrilles and moccasins, embodying the essence of summer in Capri.

The Faces

The event drew an illustrious crowd that blended fashion royalty with global entertainment icons. Dua Lipa, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Jennie Ruby Jane of Blackpink lent their star power, appreciating the new designs amidst the architectural grandeur of Casa Malaparte. The mingling of renowned figures like Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Aron Piper, and Manu Rios with the vibrant tones of the collection added a layer of glamour and festivity to the evening.

The runway itself was graced by a line-up of stunning models including Anok Yai, Sun Mizrahi, Ida Heiner, Angelina Kendall, and Deva Cassel, who brought the collection to life with their elegant strides and striking poise.
