At LOEWE this season, we saw whimsical wonders and a celebration of Floral Fantasy. Under the direction of Jonathan Anderson, known for his thoughtful yet avant-garde approach, the collection poses a provocative question: What remains when all the noise is silenced?

In a strikingly minimalist setting, LOEWE’s iconic venue showcased a singular bird sculpture, elegantly balanced atop a 396-centimeter wooden pole crafted by English artist Tracey Emin. As delicate instrumentals floated through the air, the harmonies of Mozart, Bach, Chopin, and the vibrant essence of Mane’s floral paintings seamlessly intertwined, transforming the atmosphere into a captivating ode to wearable art.

Set against a stark white backdrop, the garments defy traditional structure, embracing a fluidity that speaks to both elegance and the mundane. Silhouettes bend and sway, captured in a state of perpetual motion, challenging the viewer to rethink the boundaries between high fashion and everyday wear. A long, flowing dress juxtaposed with a simple T-shirt and slim trousers exemplifies this delicate balance, inviting us to second-guess our perceptions of what constitutes luxury.

In an exploration of minimalism and depth, Loewe’s SS25 collection invites us to consider the essence of form when stripped of excess.

Themes & Motifs of the Loewe Spring/Summer 2025 Collection

At Loewe’s SS2025 show, the theme of flight took center stage as Jonathan Anderson introduced hoops into skirts, dresses, and jackets, creating a surreal spinning top effect that seemed to defy gravity.

The opening dresses, adorned in delicate floral chiffon, showcased a playful juxtaposition of rigidity and fluidity; the stiffened hems offered a sense of suspended animation while the concept of removable hoops hinted at a versatility that aligns with modern practicality without sacrificing elegance.

The runway unfolded like a musical score, with silhouettes revisiting familiar forms through subtle variations in color and fabric. This rhythmic repetition underscored a cohesive narrative, inviting viewers to reflect on the collection as a kind of visual symphony. Notably, abstract graphic prints featuring icons like Mozart and Van Gogh transformed these artistic figures into a contemporary form of concert merchandise, appealing to a new generation captivated by nostalgia and artistic heritage.

Jonathan Anderson’s collection embraced a playful exploration of silhouette, prioritizing form over excess. With the clever use of boning and wiring, skirts flowed and flared in unexpected ways, while leather mini-capes and sequined dresses brought a dynamic energy to the lineup.

The accessories, grounded yet inventive, featured practical flats like boat shoes and Ballet Runners, complementing the fresh iterations of his Puzzle bag alongside the introduction of the trapezoidal Madrid. In a world often fixated on embellishment, this collection revealed the elegance of simplicity, offering a refreshing perspective in contemporary fashion.
