From February 20 to 26, the city pulsated with creativity, showcasing a diverse range of ready-to-wear collections that promised to define the coming colder seasons.

Milan Fashion Week dazzled the fashion world with a myriad of trends, celebrity appearances, and noteworthy moments. From Fendi’s playful colours and textures to Kate Moss and Jessica Biel’s sophisticated all-black looks, the runways were fashion statements in their own rights. In this dynamic week, the event not only showcased diverse collections, but also firmly established the trends that will define the upcoming fall and winter seasons.

KHAMSA brings to you some captivating runway trends that had everyone buzzing from this influential fashion event.

١. Earthy Greens

Italian fashion labels are leaning into nature-inspired themes with their Fall 2024 collections, opting for a palette dominated by earthy moss tones. Unlike the chartreuse trend in New York, Milan showcased a spectrum from deeper shades at MM6 Maison Margiela, Roberto Cavalli and Loro Piana, to lighter variations at Gucci and Alberta Ferretti.

٢. Payette Details

Milan Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2024 wasn’t just about earthy tones and cosy textures; it also saw a playful trend emerge that embraced the idea of adding a touch of sparkle to everything. This “Payette Details” trend resonated with the mood of the times, offering a welcome dose of optimism and playful luxury. It served as a reminder that even during the colder months, fashion can still be a source of joy and self-expression.

So, whether it’s a subtle shimmer or a full-on sequin statement, this trend encourages embracing a little bit of sparkle and adding a touch of personal flair to your winter wardrobe. Designers like Elisabetta Franchi and Dolce Gabbana incorporated this spirit of shimmer into their collections in style.

٣. Corset Detailing

The corset detailing trend, adding a touch of structure and femininity to various garments. This trend wasn’t about literal corsets, but rather incorporated elements reminiscent of the classic corsetry style Cinched Waists, Bustier Inspiration and Paneling and Seams. It offered a fresh take on the traditional corset, adapting it for modern wearability and diverse styles, adding a touch of sophistication and historical influence to contemporary fashion. The “corset detailing” trend allowed designers like Ermanno Scervino to experiment with different interpretations, creating a versatile look that could be glamorous and edgy at the same time.

Milan Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2024 embraced the cosy side with the Fuzzies trend, a playful and heartwarming ode to all things soft and textured. This trend wasn’t just about comfort, but also incorporated the visual appeal of plush materials and tactile textures like Faux Fur Frenzy, Chunky Knits, Textured Layers and more. The classic fuzzy trend was embodied perfectly by the likes of MSGM, Marni, and Missoni.

٥. Transparency

The inclusion of the “see-through” trend in Milan Fashion Week showcased a shift towards embracing the body in different ways. It went beyond simple functionality and offered an opportunity for designers to experiment with transparency, layering, and textures. It’s important to note that this trend wasn’t meant for everyone or every occasion, but rather served as an option for those who wanted to embrace a bold and confident approach to fall and winter fashion.
