Fashion’s newest sport isn’t front rows, it’s watch parties. They’re free, they’re communal, and they’re multiplying faster than you can say “Did you see Chanel’s show?.” Credit fashion critic–creator Lyas (@ly.as on Instagram), who turned live-streams into IRL blockbusters across London, Milan and Paris, with official backing to match the hype.

Case in point: every night since September 29th at La Caserne, the eco-fashion incubator in Paris, groups of around 2,000 people packed the open-air courtyard to stream the shows. But the biggest one so far and the most talked about was of course Matthieu Blazy’s Chanel debut. Lines started from noon; by 8 p.m., security was chanting “at capacity,” while latecomers tried to spot the giant “laptop” screen from the barricades. It felt less like a viewing and more like a festival.
When the feed cut to the Grand Palais and the camera caught Nicole Kidman and Pedro Pascal taking their seats, the La Caserne crowd roared—then fell silent for look one. (If you missed it: Matthieu Blazy set Chanel on a cosmic course under a constellation of planets, an audacious reset that had critics & everyone else on planet Earth talking!)
Beyond the Chanel moment, the bigger story is how these gatherings are reframing fashion week for everyone else. No invites, no gatekeeping, just a massive shared screen, a banger soundtrack, and a city’s worth of style kids swapping hot takes in real time.
This is more than a moment; it’s a movement, and the calendars are already filling with next stops.

Would we call it the most fun you can have with your coat still on? Probably. And with venues like La Caserne making it feel easy (and extremely cool) to show up and belong, expect the watch-party wave to grow.
If this landed in Dubai, where should the screen glow next? Our guess is Alserkal Avenue’s courtyard or d3’s main square under the skyline. But we’ll let you decide that or be the next host of a great Dubai Watch Party!
