Here are our editor-in-chief’s finest recommendations to tackle Ibiza.

This week, KHAMSA is heading to Ibiza — and we’re taking you with us. But not just anywhere. We’re diving into the real Ibiza, guided by none other than our co-founder and editor-in-chief, Aya Mechelany (@ayamechelany on Instagram).

Aya’s relationship with the island runs deep. She’s been going since she was a child — practically raised under the Balearic sun. From the age of two to today, she’s returned every summer religiously, carving out her own map of magic across the island’s beaches, coves, terraces, and tables. Her Ibiza isn’t just a destination — it’s a second home.

Lately, it feels like everyone’s in Ibiza. Mykonos? Over. Capri? Maybe next year. Your entire feed is dancing under disco balls and toasting at beach clubs somewhere on the White Isle. But if you’re tired of the usual circuit — if the thought of one more overly hyped restaurant or packed beach makes you want to ghost your own vacation — we’ve got you.

Aya’s guide isn’t about the scene. It’s about the soul. Think sun-warmed boat seats, salty skin, fresh mojitos, vintage finds, and long lunches that spill into golden evenings. It’s the Ibiza you don’t just visit — it’s the one you feel.

Scroll down for the good stuff.

Top must-visit food spots in Ibiza?

For Breakfast

Passion Cafe is definitely a must.

For Lunch

My list could go on forever, but I’ll keep it short and sweet with a few spots I think you really need to try. First up: Cala Gracioneta. A little slice of island heaven — crystal-clear water, soft sand, and a beachside restaurant that’s perfect for long, lazy lunches under the pine trees. It captures everything I love about Ibiza: low-key, and beautiful.

JONDAL

Of course, Jondal has been everywhere over the past few years — but honestly, it’s worth the hype. The food is incredible.

Sa Caleta

Sa Caleta is a gem nestled among ochre cliffs, where fresh fish pairs perfectly with crisp white wine. It’s a simple one, but always does it.

Ses Boques

Ses Boques is a must, must try — seriously, don’t leave the island without going for lunch. The place is just to die for. You walk down into this tiny cala, it feels like a secret spot. All wooden, just a handful of tables. Book well in advance.

Cala Bonita

For me, Cala Bonita is exactly where the whole “if you know, you know” vibe makes the most sense, haha. Just go — and thank me later.

Clap House Ibiza

The much-awaited Clap House Ibiza has finally opened, and it’s an absolute must-try this season. Think fresh fish and expertly crafted cocktails — the perfect combo.

For Sunset & Drinks

Cala Escondida

Sa Trinxa

For Dinner

Macao Cafe

My first recommendation is Macao Café — an Italian gem tucked away in Santa Gertrudis. Definitely one to add to your list.

Nagai

Nagai is also really nice. It’s Japanese, simple, and serves really good food. Plus, they sometimes have a live band, which makes the vibe even better.

Es Boldado

For a classic Balearic dinner — fresh fish and paella by the sea, right in front of Es Vedrà — my one and only recommendation is Es Boldado. Yeah, it’s a bit far, we’ll agree on that. But trust me, it’s hands down the best Arroz Negro you’ll ever taste. Plus, the views of Es Vedrà are truly the best on the island.

Casa Maca

Casa Maca is one of the coolest spots in Ibiza right now. Delicious food, a bit of those Tulum vibes, and a cool crowd. Definitely worth checking out.

La Paloma

Anyone who’s been coming to Ibiza for a while probably knows La Paloma — a charming Italian spot near Santa Gertrudis that feels like a little hidden treasure. Romantic style, delicious food.

La Oliva

I love having dinner in town. No one really thinks about it, but Ibiza’s old town is beautiful and such a great experience if you want to stroll, shop a little, and soak it all in. Definitely head to the small streets near the castle — up there you’ll find plenty of restaurants. One I particularly love is La Oliva.

La Brasa

La Brasa is another great spot in town — perfect for big groups looking to gather before a night out.

Must Visit Spots?

No brainer — if you can, you have to spend a day in Formentera. It’s heaven on earth. Have lunch at Es Molí de Sal, go for a swim, wander around the tiny sandbank, and head back at sunset. Truly the best day ever.

Best place to stay in?

Atzaro Boutique Hotel

Petunia Ibiza

Can Na Xica

Best parties?

On Mondays, you know where to be. Otherwise, check out the lineup at Beach House Ibiza — they’ve got amazing live bands and DJs bringing afternoon beats all the way until midnight. A laid-back beach party vibe… all the things we love.

Underrated places?

The North! Head up north on a Sunday and check out the hippie market. Then make your way to Benirràs for some true Ibiza magic: drums at sunset, barefoot dancing, and all the hippie vibes.

What should you avoid?

Rave parties.
