Discover the mesmerising Greek Island of Milos

For this week’s travel guide, Hana Nached (@hananached), marketing strategist for the Egyptian brand Okhtein, gives us a tour around Milos Green. The island is located just north of the Sea of Crete and features breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea. With its stunning landscapes, Milos is the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway. In addition to its amazing beaches and crystal clear waters, Milos is known for its tasty traditional cuisine, making it a wonderful destination for foodies.

Nached’s guide includes a variety of activities for visitors to discover the island’s marvels. With its mix of stunning scenery and delicious food, Milos is the perfect destination for those looking to get away from it all.

Must-visit beaches?

So here’s the thing – I would recommend renting a boat (from Agia Kyriaki beach) and spending the day beach hopping – the best beaches are only accessible by boat (ex: Kleftiko), you wouldn’t want to miss those crystal blue waters –  make sure you plan this on a good day (avoid the winds) was probably one of the most enjoyable days of the summer – make sure to prepare an icebox (get you some nice greek beer) some chips and dips – and you’re good to go.

Other beach options: I would recommend going to Sarakiniko Beach: This is the most tourist place (Was a bit crowded & you get that Instagram vs. reality shock) but I would push you to go for the experience (JUST JUMP!

While driving around the island – stop the car at random spots and enjoy a private beach experience during the sunset (at least this is what we did), and let me tell you – it’s a different feeling 🧚‍♀️

Best boutique hotels to stay in?

I stayed at the Plaka Suites – so nice and clean, and the staff is very friendly – it felt like home – definitely recommend it – 4 to 5 people can share the suit easily. So it’s a great little place that you enjoy with a group of friends + a great view.

What should you avoid?

Avoid over-packing – pack LIGHT

And lower expectations in terms of partying – Milos is a great island to detox and enjoy nature

Must-pack items?

Good Tanning oil and comfortable shoes would do the trick

Any tips and tricks?

You MUST rent a car- the island is pretty big and there is no public transportation – so I would recommend a car for sure A 3-day trip to Milos is ideal – not more not less.
