Olivia Dean X Burberry: Her Energy, Her Rules

She is finally in HER element.

There’s a certain calm that comes with knowing who you are. A quiet confidence that doesn’t need to prove anything. That’s where Olivia Dean is right now.

For Burberry Her Parfum, Olivia moves through London the way she moves through her music: gently, freely, and on her own terms. Inspired by open skies, springtime cherry blossoms, and the feeling of being completely in your element, the campaign captures a softer kind of power. One that comes from self-expression, ease, and trusting your own rhythm.

In conversation with KHAMSA, Olivia Dean opens up about music, beauty as a daily ritual, and why feeling comfortable in your skin is the most luxurious thing of all.

Olivia Dean for Burberry – Her, The New Parfum

١. From music to fragrance, how does it feel to step into the world of Burberry Her, and what excites you most about being part of that story?

It feels amazing to be the face of any fragrance. It is not something I ever thought would happen to me but what excites me most is that the Burberry Her campaign feels so aligned with what I stand for which is

Confidence, femininity and being authentically yourself.

٢. How did themes from you latest album The Art of Loving tie into your beauty or fragrance identity?

This album is my most intentional work yet. It feels assured and is both the most vulnerable and confident I have sounded musically. I feel that the Burberry Her Parfum fragrance and campaign express those same values.

It’s about not being afraid to say how you feel, being confident in who you are, and celebrating womanhood in all its forms.

٣. Can you walk us through your ideal morning self‑care routine?

Ideally there are no early starts or alarms. I make a beautiful coffee, light a candle and put on some sort of 60s French soundtrack.

Then I take time to wash my face, put on a little makeup and finish with a spritz of my favourite perfume which is currently Burberry Her Parfum. It is gorgeous and gives me the confidence to walk out the door with my head held high.

٤. You once shared that as you’ve gotten older, makeup became more about embellishment than covering up. For the Her campaign, do you have a favorite ‘embellishing’ signature look?

At the moment I feel like less is more so my signature look tends to consist of a fluffy brow, a light coverage base that lets my skin breathe and a lovely pink blush as I am really into blush right now.

٥. When you’re not making music, what brings you joy? Is there a particular scent or memory tied to one of those moments?

When I’m not making music and I have some time in London, I really love getting out of the house and moving my body. I love cycling and the smell of London, especially in the spring with the cherry blossom trees, and I find the smell of nature in general really comforting.

٦. You’ve cited musical inspirations like Lauryn Hill and Carole King. If the Burberry Her fragrance had a song, what would it sound like?

Les Fleurs by Minnie Riperton!

I think it’s the perfect example of a bold and feminine song that has the power to change the mood of any day.

It makes you feel joyful and strong, just like the fragrance!

٧. What early memory still inspires you when thinking about beauty or presence?

One that really stands out to me is my show at the Jazz Café which was the first show we were able to do after COVID.

It was the first time I had my hair and makeup professionally done for a show and I remember walking out on stage and thinking wow, I’ve made it.

I felt like the version of myself on the inside was finally reflected on the outside and I truly felt beautiful that night.

٨. If you had to describe Olivia Dean in three words, what would they be? Bonus: does “Burberry Her Ambassador” make the list? and why?

Burberry Her Ambassador certainly makes the list! So an extra two would be authentic and happy
